Eric graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering. For a decade he specialized in project management for several well known large commercial operations in the area.
In November of 2015 he started EMS Contracting, Inc., a small residential construction company, which he grew successfully over the following three years. In 2018, Eric and Rachel collaborated on the start of an integratively-run design build firm that would bring all facets of design and build under one roof, combining their skill sets. In 2018, Starrett Design Build was born.
Rachel graduated from The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City after having worked at W Magazine in the fashion closet and for Eva Jeanbart-Lorenzotti, fashion mogul.
Upon returning home to Delaware, she spent her years at home raising babies freelancing part-time running socials and marketing for J.Clayton Bright, local sculpture, working for local image consultant Megan Kristel, and by managing advertising, marketing and socials for EMS Contracting, Inc., Eric's first general contracting company. In later years she founded The Closet Coach, Inc. a business that revamped client's images starting in their wardrobes. In 2018, Rachel co-founded Starrett Design Build with her husband Eric, pivoting her trained eye towards interiors and coming on full-time as Designer. She designs and selects all selections including kitchens, which are done in-house with SDB.
